Day 1 and I'm optimistic

Day 1 and I already scored a free lunch courtesy of training. Staying home tonight - no shopping. I'm thinking I will keep a tally of what money I do spend to see trends (or is that the management training talking now?) I think one month should be easy. Maybe try for two? Will see

Great to hear about a compact group in Australia! Along with 12 colleagues of mine I decided to join in on January 19th and live the compact for two months (two of the winter months, Thorri og Góa, according to the old Icelandic calendar). Like you we are careful and take baby steps, two months at a time.
To begin with shopping just seemed to be a reflex, but it really helps to have the colleagues that keep you under controle. So far we've exchanged ideas on how to mend and fix things, we've started an "exchange library" at work and have lively discussions at work and on our blog site, thorrioggoa.blogspot.com.
Have fun and good luck!
